A private, non-profit humane organization devoted to the care of stray, homeless, abused, and abandoned animals of Chemung County. We are not a county agency, nor have any state affiliation, but are funded by memberships, donations, bequests, fees, and dog control contracts with Chemung County and most of the townships within the county.

COMMUNITY SERVICES -
Provides shelter service for stray, homeless, abused and abandoned animals of Chemung County; offers and promotes animal adoptions; hosts low-cost spay/neuter clinics for the public in partnership with local agencies. Also investigates complaints of cruelty, neglect, and abandonment. All complaints are kept confidential, and can be made anonymously. Dog behavior and training classes are available. Regular adoption fees for animals/promotional adoption fees throughout the year; fees for euthanizing old/sick animals; training fees for classes. May need to complete an application. Call or walk-in.
Eligibility: None.
Volunteer Opportunities: Seeking individuals interested in walking dogs, cuddling cats, foster care for animals, doing laundry, washing dishes, yard work, minor repairs, cleaning, painting, filing, photocopying, and helping out at spay/neuter clinics, adoption events, fundraising events.
