BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS -
Provides site-based mentoring at identified sites in Steuben, Allegany, and Chemung Counties. Youth ("Littles") in need of another positive adult role model in their lives are matched with carefully screened volunteers ("Bigs"). Bigs and Littles meet on a weekly basis, engaging in friendship activities. Bigs and Littles meet on regular basis at the site for supervised, fun activities. No fee. Call for information.
Eligibility: Ages 6-17 in need of a positive role model; must be at least 18 to volunteer.
Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteers are need as youth mentors.

CHILD CARE AND YOUTH ENRICHMENT -
Offers students a nutritious snack; at least one hour of homework help or academic enrichment; and two hours of various social and recreational activities. The program also has a focus on conflict resolution and violence prevention. No fee.

CHOICE PROGRAM -
Provides child sexual abuse treatment for victims, their families and the offenders. Each family is assigned a therapist who is specially trained to work with families in which sexual abuse has occurred. Individual, group and family therapy is provided. Sliding scale. Call for an intake appointment.
Eligibility: Male and female victims of sexual abuse, to age 18; non-offending parents of the victims; adolescent and adult sex-offenders.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROGRAM FOR MEN -
Offers an accountability program of 26 or 52 weeks for men who have committed a crime of domestic violence and are court mandated to attend. Call for information. Call for an intake appointment.
Eligibility: Must be mandated by the court.

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP) -
Provides assessments, substance abuse evaluations, short-term counseling, debriefing, information/referral services, consultation, technical support and an extensive training menu. Individual contracts are established with an employer to offer these services. EAP is designed to reduce workplace performance issues and to reduce work-related stress. Fees vary. Sliding scale. Payment arrangements may be possible. Call for an intake appointment.
Eligibility: Must be employed by a participating organization.

FAMILY FOCUS -
Provides parenting education with a therapeutic aspect for families that have been identified as at-risk for child abuse/neglect, foster care placement or residential treatment. Fees vary. Sliding scale. Payment arrangements may be possible. Call for an intake appointment.
Eligibility: Must have a referral from the Steuben County Department of Social Services.

FAMILY SERVICE SOCIETY PROFESSIONAL TRAINING INSTITUTE -
Provides a variety of high quality workshops featuring nationally known presenters for local human service workers, social work professionals, educators, etc. Call for information. Call to be added to the mailing list to receive information about upcoming workshops.
Eligibility: Varies, call for information.

MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES -
Provides individual, marital/couple, and family counseling services. Master level therapists are trained to address many emotional issues including depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship difficulties, parent-child difficulties, personal adjustment and stress related issues. Fees vary. Sliding scale. Payment arrangements may be possible. Call for an intake appointment.
Eligibility: None.

YOUTH SERVICES -
Provides preventative school counseling services to youth and their families on a referral basis. Schools currently utilizing counseling services are Campbell-Savona Elementary and Corning's Frank Pierce Early Childhood Center. Provides trainings and workshops to schools, agencies and organizations on parent/child communication, personal development, team building, violence prevention and ADHD. Early intervention workshops are available to area schools on: anger management, drug and alcohol prevention, and violence prevention. No fee. Call for information.
Eligibility: Must reside in a participating school district.

Area Served: Steuben and surrounding counties, varies according to program.
