IHS Coordinated Transportation Services at Institute for Human Services (IHS)
Provides transportation to the elderly, disabled and those in need to non-emergency medical appointments, pharmacies, grocery stores, food pantries, or one-time trip to human service agencies. Regular assistance is not available for recurring treatments such as dialysis or physical therapy, but occasional or short term help may be available.
Serves: Steuben County.
Eligibility: Must be able to enter and exit the vehicle with little or no help. Must provide at least 2 days notice for transport.
Fees: No fee. Donations accepted.
Intake Process: Call for phone intake.
Documents Required: Call for information.
In need of volunteer drivers to pick-up clients at their homes and transport to and from pre-approved transports. Volunteers accept or decline transport requests from SCT-VP staff on an as needed basis. Volunteers can be reimbursed mileage from the time they leave their homes until they return again.
